Jamia Millia Islamia Shines in QS World University Rankings 2026; Secures position in the 761–770 band
Nai Dilli : Jamia Millia Islamia (JMI) has achieved a significant milestone by securing a position in the 761–770 band in the QS World University Rankings 2026, released by the London-based QS Rankings Agency. This is a substantial leap above its previous position in the 851–900 band in the 2025 edition.
Vice Chancellor JMI, Prof. Mazhar Asif, and Registrar JMI, Prof. Md. Mahtab Alam Rizvi, congratulated the entire JMI fraternity, especially the faculty members, non-teaching staff, and students, for this extraordinary achievement. Prof. Asif noted, “This international distinction is extremely satisfying and demonstrates the university’s outstanding teaching standards and excellence in research. We are committed to building JMI into a world-class university that is second to none.” Prof. Rizvi said, “The university community’s hard effort is reflected in the QS World University Rankings 2026, where we have risen considerably. It establishes new standards for our teachers and researchers to strive for greater success.”
The Vice Chancellor and Registrar, JMI, specially congratulated the IQAC team for its instrumental role in coordinating ranking-related data and quality enhancement initiatives, which significantly contributed to this success. The university will strive to further improve its ranking and enhance its global reputation in the years ahead.
