Prof. Abid Ali Khan Appointed Director of IQAC at AMU

Nai Dilli : Prof. Abid Ali Khan, from the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Aligarh Muslim University (AMU), has been appointed as the Director of the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) for a two-year term, in addition to his current responsibilities.
Prof. Khan has held several key roles at AMU, including serving as Deputy Director at the Directorate of School Education. He is also associated with the Centre for Interdisciplinary Biomedical and Human Factors Engineering under the Faculty of Engineering & Technology.
An alumnus of AMU, Prof. Khan holds a B.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering and an M.Sc. in Industrial and Production Engineering. He earned his PhD from the University of Limerick, Ireland, where he conducted research as a European Union-funded Research Assistant.
He teaches subjects such as Ergonomics, Experimental Methods & Analysis, Design of Experiments, and Research Methodology. His primary research areas include Occupational Ergonomics, human responses to vibration, Work-Related Musculoskeletal Disorders (WMSDs), and EMG studies. His scholarly work has appeared in leading journals like Ergonomics, Applied Ergonomics, International Journal of Industrial Ergonomics, Theoretical Issues in Ergonomics Science, Occupational Ergonomics, Journal of Occupational Safety and Ergonomics, and Work: A Journal of Prevention, Assessment and Rehabilitation, among others.
Prof. Khan is actively engaged in R&D initiatives focusing on whole-body and hand-arm vibration exposure, ergonomic assessment of product designs, and EMG-based prosthetic systems.
