National Pharmacy Education Day Observed at Arunachal University of Studies, Namsai
Namsai Bureau : The School of Pharmacy, Arunachal University of Studies (AUS), organized a special event on March 6th to commemorate the birth anniversary of Prof. M. L. Schroff, the Father of Pharmacy in India, by observing National Pharmacy Education Day. This occasion celebrated the vital role of pharmacy education in shaping healthcare professionals and fostering societal well-being.
The event commenced with a welcome address delivered by Mr. Kangkan Jyoti Saud, Head of the Department, School of Pharmacy. He extended a warm greeting to the attendees and set the tone for the day.
Prof. D. S. Hernwal, Rector of AUS, highlighted the pioneering contributions of Prof. M. L. Schroff, whose visionary efforts laid the foundation for modern pharmacy education in India.
The Chief Guest, Shri Nangbia Tapin, Registrar of Arunachal Pradesh Pharmacy Council, delivered an inspiring address emphasizing the importance of pharmacists in society. He encouraged students to strive for excellence and recognized the university’s commitment to delivering high-quality education in the field of pharmacy.
Prof. Ajeya Jha, Vice-Chancellor of AUS, discussed the evolution of pharmacy education in India. He shed light on the increasing career opportunities available in the field, urging students to remain dedicated and work towards their aspirations.
The program concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Shri Lakhyajit Borah, Assistant Professor, School of Pharmacy. He expressed gratitude to the dignitaries, faculty members, and students for their active participation and contribution to the event’s success.
