Jamia Premier League-2025 (StaffT-20 Cricket Tournament) concludes with spectacular closing ceremony and prize distribution function
Nai Dilli : The Closing & Prize Distribution Ceremony of the Jamia Premier League-2025 (6th Edition) was held on 8th May, 2025 (Thursday) at Nawab Mansoor Ali Khan Pataudi Sports Complex, JMI. The Games & Sports Department, Jamia Millia Islamia organized the Jamia Premier League-2025 (A Staff T-20 Cricket Tournament) – 6th Edition from 5th April, 2025 to 8th May, 2025. This staff tournament has been organizing by the Games & Sports Department, JMI for the last 10 years.
The programme was graced by Prof. Mazhar Asif, Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor, JMI as the Chief Guest. Prof. Md. Mahtab Alam Rizvi, Registrar, JMI and Mr. Mukhtyar, DC/Dy. C.S.O., Secretariat Security Organization, Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India were the Guests of Honour of the programme.
Prof. Mazhar Asif, Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor, JMI congratulated all the teams of JPL-2025 and encouraged all the faculty and staff members to participate in sports for physical fitness. He congratulated the winning team and appreciated the sportsman spirit of all the participants during the conduct of the tournament. The Vice-Chancellor Sahab given his best wishes to runners up teams for upcoming JPL-2026
Prof. Md. Mahtab Alam Rizvi, Registrar, JMI highlighted the importance of sports for a healthy life and congratulated all the participants and winning team of the tournament. He cited the role of sports in all civilization and considered sports for overall development of a human being.
Prof. Nafis Ahmad, Hony. Director, Games & Sports, JMI outlined a brief report on the JPL-2025. He lauded the fairness of officials and core team to conduct JPL-2025. In this tournament, the teaching and non-teaching employees (permanent, contractual & guest faculty) formed teams of their respective Faculties, Centres and administrative offices of the University.

The objective of this tournament is to foster a healthy work-life balance amount the University staff members under the campaign of the Fit India Movement – an initiative of the Ministry of Youth & Affairs & Sports, Government of India. This 6th Season of JPL, record 17 teams participated with full enthusiasm from the various Faculties and administrative offices of JMI namely:

The Final Match was played between University Polytechnic Team and Schools Team and University Polytechnic Team emerged as the WINNER of JPL-2025.
