Centre for Narendra Modi Studies Applauds NCERT for Launching New Textbooks under NEP 2020 and NCF-SE 2023

Prof. Jasim Mohammad Hails NCERT’s New Textbooks as Milestone for Viksit Bharat @2047

Nai Dilli : The Centre for Narendra Modi Studies (CNMS) has extended heartfelt appreciation to the National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) for the launch of its newly designed school textbooks that reflect the true spirit of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 and the National Curriculum Framework for School Education (NCF-SE) 2023. This important step marks a significant milestone in India’s journey toward a learner-centric, value-based, and creativity-driven education system envisioned by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Prof. Jasim Mohammad, Chairman of CNMS, stated, “The new textbooks represent a major shift from rote learning to imaginative, experiential, and integrated education. They are rooted in Indian ethos and designed to prepare students not just for exams, but for life. These books align beautifully with the NEP’s vision of holistic and multidisciplinary learning.” He further said that CNMS would promote awareness of these new resources and encourage their adoption in schools across India.

The textbooks launched include Veena (Hindi textbook for Class 5), Santoor (English textbook for Class 5), Kriti (Art textbook for Class 8), and Poorvi (English textbook for Class 8). Each of these books has been thoughtfully curated to ignite curiosity and deepen understanding. Veena, the Hindi textbook, offers a vibrant mix of stories, poems, and moral lessons that reflect cultural heritage and foster language skills through engaging activities. It is not merely a language book but a window into values, empathy, and creativity.

Santoor, the English textbook for Class 5, brings in a refreshing approach to learning English through storytelling, play-based language exercises, and simple conversations that connect with a child’s everyday experiences. It encourages expression and builds communication skills in an interactive way, making learning joyful and meaningful. At the middle school level, Kriti, the Class 8 Art textbook, beautifully blends traditional Indian art forms with contemporary techniques. It invites students to observe, create, and appreciate art in diverse ways. It introduces them to Indian folk traditions, encourages experimentation, and brings art into the heart of learning. This is a significant step toward integrating aesthetic development into the mainstream curriculum. Poorvi, the English textbook for Class 8, is crafted to nurture critical thinking and literary appreciation. The textbook features a rich collection of prose and poetry that includes both Indian and global voices. Through thought-provoking texts, activities, and reflective writing tasks, Poorvi helps students to engage with the world around them while strengthening their grasp of the English language in a natural, meaningful way.

Dr Daulat Ram at CNMS, added, “These books reflect a shift in educational thinking—from textbooks that dictate to textbooks that invite. They give children space to imagine, to ask questions, and to learn with joy. This is the kind of change we have long awaited in Indian education.”

Advisory Committee Member of CNMS Prof Divya Tanwar , also welcomed this move and urged parents, teachers, and schools to explore these new books, now available on the NCERT web portal (ncertbooks.ncert.gov.in) and Amazon India (amazon.in/ncert). He remarked, “These books are for building the next generation of thinkers, leaders, and responsible citizens.”

The Centre for Narendra Modi Studies sees this launch as a foundational step toward realizing the goals of Viksit Bharat @2047. These textbooks will go a long way in nurturing young minds who are confident, creative, and deeply connected to their roots while being prepared to take on the challenges of the future.
