AMU NSS Organizes Online Programme Dedicated to the International Day of Yoga 2025 Emphasizing ‘One Earth, One Health’

Nai Dilli : The National Service Scheme (NSS), Aligarh Muslim University (AMU), marked the 11th International Day of Yoga with a virtual celebration. Held under the global theme “Yoga for One Earth, One Health,” the event highlighted yoga’s transformative power in enhancing individual well-being and ecological balance.
Chief Guest Dr. Alok Arya, District Development Officer, Aligarh, emphasised yoga’s relevance in building inner strength and societal responsibility, while the Guest of Honor, Dr. Narendra Kumar, District Ayush Officer, elaborated on the preventive and curative dimensions of traditional wellness systems.
Distinguished speakers expressed their ideas in the event. Dr. Samardeep Saxena, Regional Director, NSS, Government of Uttar Pradesh, and Dr. Manju Singh, OSD and State Liaison Officer, Higher Education Department, underlined the dynamic role of youth in promoting a culture of health and mindfulness through yoga.
A special lecture by Dr. Dharmendra Kumar, Naturopathy Specialist, Department of Physical Education, AMU, enlightened the audience on yoga’s scientific principles and holistic impact on physical and mental health.
Prof. Mohd Mohsin Khan, Programme Coordinator, NSS AMU, discussed yoga as an ancient Indian tradition that promotes a harmonious life rooted in self-awareness, resilience, and sustainability.
The programme was conducted by Dr. Tarushikha Sarvesh, Programme Officer, and concluded with a Vote of Thanks delivered by Dr. Mohd Uzair, NSS Programme Officer and Convener. The event witnessed participation from NSS volunteers, programme officers, and students from various disciplines, highlighting AMU’s commitment to a healthier and more mindful society.
