Jamia Hamdard Successfully Hosts SMBS Alumni Meet 2026, Bringing Together 350 Alumni from India and Abroad
The Directorate of Training, Placement and Alumni Affairs (DTPAA), Jamia Hamdard, in collaboration with the School of Management and Business Studies (SMBS), successfully organised the SMBS Alumni Meet 2026 at Jamia Hamdard. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from more than 350 alumni from India and abroad, making it a memorable celebration of the University’s strong and growing alumni network.
The Alumni Meet brought together alumni from the graduating batches of 2001 to 2026, representing programmes across General Management, Healthcare Management, Pharmaceutical Management, and Hospitality and Catering Services.
Vice Chancellor Emphasises the Role of Alumni in Institution Building
In his welcome address, Prof. (Dr.) M. Z. Abdin, Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, Jamia Hamdard, highlighted the vital role of alumni in the growth and institution-building process of the University. He emphasised that alumni are not merely graduates of an institution but remain an integral part of its extended family and its continuing journey of excellence. The Vice Chancellor appreciated the enthusiastic participation of alumni from different batches and geographical locations and encouraged them to remain actively connected with their Alma Mater. He also emphasised the importance of alumni contributing through mentorship, industry connections, knowledge sharing, career guidance, placements, internships and other collaborative initiatives that can benefit the University’s students and contribute to institutional development. He expressed his happiness at seeing alumni returning to the University after several years and noted that such reunions provide an important platform for strengthening the emotional and professional bond between the University and its alumni.
A special highlight of the event was the recognition and felicitation of distinguished alumni for their valuable professional achievements, contributions and continued support to Jamia Hamdard. Various awards were presented to acknowledge alumni who have made significant contributions towards supporting and strengthening the University. The felicitation ceremony celebrated the achievements of alumni across diverse professional domains and reinforced the University’s commitment to maintaining a lifelong relationship with its graduates.
An engaging Alumni Interaction and Panel Discussion was organised as an important part of the programme. Alumni shared their professional experiences and insights with students, discussing career opportunities, expectations from management graduates in the corporate world, preparation for professional careers, emerging industry trends and the latest developments across sectors. The interaction provided students with valuable first-hand exposure to corporate realities and career opportunities. Alumni also emphasised the importance of continuous learning, adaptability, communication skills, professional ethics, leadership and industry readiness. The session served as an effective bridge between academic learning and corporate expectations, enabling students to understand the skills and competencies required to succeed in today’s dynamic professional environment. The event was further enriched by a series of cultural performances by students, showcasing their creativity, talent and enthusiasm. The performances created a vibrant and celebratory atmosphere and added to the spirit of camaraderie among alumni, students and faculty members. The Alumni Meet also provided alumni an opportunity to revisit their campus memories, reconnect with former classmates and faculty members, and create new memories with their Alma Mater. The event also highlighted the significant role alumni can play in mentoring students, creating industry linkages, supporting placements and internships, sharing professional knowledge and contributing to the overall development of the University.
In his Vote of Thanks, the Director, Directorate of Training, Placement and Alumni Affairs (DTPAA), Jamia Hamdard, Mr. Vinod Tejwani, expressed his heartfelt gratitude to all the participating alumni for taking time from their professional commitments to return to their Alma Mater and make the event a grand success. He also conveyed his appreciation to Prof. (Dr.) M. Z.
