Department of Pharmacology, AMU Shines at UP-UK APPICON 2025 Conference

Nai Dilli : The Department of Pharmacology, Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College (JNMC), Aligarh Muslim University (AMU), made a notable impact at the 12th Annual Conference of the UP-UK Chapter of the Association of Physiologists and Pharmacologists of India (UP-UK APPICON 2025), held at Kalyan Singh Government Medical College, Bulandshahr.
A team of eleven postgraduate students, led by Professor Syed Ziaur Rahman, Chairman of the Department, participated in the event, reflecting the department’s dynamic academic culture and commitment to advancing pharmacological research.

One of the highlights was the presentation by Dr. Nachiket Brahmankar, an MD Pharmacology resident, who showcased a poster titled “Ketamine for Depression: A Pharmacological Review of Different Modes of Administration.”
Professor Syed Ziaur Rahman also chaired a scientific session focused on Pharmacovigilance, where he stressed the growing importance of drug safety and monitoring in contemporary healthcare.
In the General Body Meeting, he proposed that the next edition of the conference—the 13th UP-UK APPICON—be hosted by JNMC, AMU, which was unanimously accepted.
