Condolence Meeting at JMI in Memory of Prof. Anjali Gandhi

Nai Dilli : Sarojini Naidu Centre for Women’s Studies (SNCWS), New Delhi, solemnly organized a condolence meeting on April 16, 2025 to honor the legacy of Prof. Anjali Gandhi, former Honorary Director of SNCWS and Professor at the Department of Social Work JMI, who recently passed away. The gathering was held on April 16, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM in Room 130 (Multipurpose Hall, SNCWS), JMI, with provisions for both in-person and virtual attendance.
The meeting commenced with heartfelt remarks by Prof. Nishat Zaidi (Honorary Director Sarojini Naidu Center for Women’s Studies), who expressed deep condolences and led a collective two minutes of silence for Prof. Gandhi’s soul and strength for her loved ones. Attendees, including dignitaries, faculty, staff, and students, shared cherished memories and reflections, celebrating Prof. Gandhi’s profound contributions to women’s studies and her enduring impact on the academic community.

Each shared personal tributes, highlighting Prof. Gandhi’s mentorship, scholarship, and compassion. The event was thoughtfully coordinated by Dr. Tarannum Siddiqui, Research Assistant at SNCWS. Ms. Subhangi, a fourth semester M.A. Gender Studies student, delivered a moving vote of thanks, encapsulating the collective gratitude for Prof. Gandhi’s remarkable life and legacy.
