Aligarh (Atif ur Rahman) : The Centre of Continuing and Adult Education and Extension (CCAEE), Aligarh Muslim University, hosted an Extra Mural Lecture on “Sir Syed and His Legacy,” delivered by Professor Mohd Ali Jauhar from the Department of Urdu.
Professor Jauhar highlighted Sir Syed Ahmad Khan’s vision of modern education as a catalyst for national progress.
He emphasised Sir Syed’s role in establishing Madarsatul Uloom, which later became Aligarh Muslim University, shaping generations of scholars and leaders. He also underscored Sir Syed’s contributions to social reform through The Aligarh Institute Gazette and Tehzibul Akhlaq, as well as his efforts to modernise Madrasa curricula.
Dr. Shamim Akhtar, Director of CCAEE, proposed a vote of thanks, encouraging learners to embrace Sir Syed’s values to foster a more enlightened and progressive society.
