VENUE OF “INTERNATIONAL MARCH FOR DISARMAMENT AND A PEACEFUL WORLD” SHIFTED FROM NAGASAKI TO TRAFALGAR SQUARE LONDON
DUE TO TSUNAMI THREAT

NEW DELHI, JULY 31: Due to a tsunami threat in Japan, the International Council of Jurists has decided to shift the venue of the upcoming “International March for Disarmament and a Peaceful World” from Nagasaki, Japan to Trafalgar Square, London. The event will be held as scheduled on 9th August 2025.
“The preparations for the International March in Nagasaki were in full swing. However, in view of the tsunami warning, we have taken the difficult decision to move the event to Trafalgar Square in London,” said Dr. Adish C. Aggarwala, President of the International Council of Jurists.
Organized by the International Council of Jurists, this global march commemorates the solemn anniversary of the atomic bombing of Nagasaki. It aims to unite judges, jurists, bar leaders, legal luminaries, peace advocates, human rights defenders, scholars, lawmakers, policymakers, teachers, and students from around the world.
“The event serves as a powerful platform to reflect on the catastrophic consequences of nuclear warfare and to reaffirm the global commitment to the complete elimination of nuclear weapons, the promotion of lasting peace, and the alleviation of human suffering,” said Dr. Aggarwala who also served as President of Supreme Court Bar Association.
